Another new toy

Uh oh.....look what I found on Craigs List.......did I tell you I love Craigs List.    It is brand new, doesn't look like it had ever been used.

What is it you ask?   A pleater,  "silly goose", needed for smocking.    Yippee.   Now if I can just find some time to do some smocking.

This is so me!

I saw this design at emblibrary and just had to have it.   Stitched it on a sweatshirt and wear it to my quilting classes.     This shirt just says it all.

I made another for my cousin, who's as bad as I am......sorry Jana.

Hooded Bath Towels

I'm having way too much fun with my new embroidery machine.   I wanted to make something else for my grandkids and thought these would be fun.   I got two completely different reactions when the gifts were opened.

Jaxson:   "A towel.....it's a towel"
Gage:   "Oh Mimi, I've always wanted one of these"

They were perfect, even if it was just a towel.

Chi Omega Owl

A girlfriend wanted a special gift for her niece.    Appliqued an owl from planet applique, added greek letters from 8 claws and a Paw on to a tote.   Added lettering also that I purchased from 8 claws and a paw.     I then found a really cute in the hoop zipper bag, from Embroidery Garden,  perfect size for a cell phone that I did in the same colors.    I was really happy with how it turned out.   So was the recipient!

Kitchen Towels

What a quick simple gift but very much appreciated.   I made these towels for my mom and for my aunt.  I'm loving the single color stitching.

Sock Monkeys

I started several years ago buying jammies for my 2 grandsons for Christmas that match.   Well now we have a little girl added to the grandchildren and I wanted their Christmas jammies to match.   I have to do it as long as I can.   Eventually they aren't going to agree with the matching thing.
Remember having sock monkeys as a kid.   Just one of those things you know you had and loved.

I decided to make them for my grandkids and great niece and great nephew.  I thought they would match the jammies perfectly.     So, I got busy sewing and made 5 of them.  The boys had hats and the girls had tutus!   They were a huge hit.
